Margaret Astor is a fast
growing, world-wide known cosmetics company. It was founded in 1951 and in 1967 it was
taken over by the British concern Beecham, a leading company in the cosmetics industry. In
1990, Margaret Astor was taken over by the Benckiser Company and by 1992 Benckiser
Cosmetics was registered as a company.In March 1995 the Benckiser Cosmetics Company
changed its name to Coty Polska Sp.z.o.o.
In spite of the tough competition in the market of
Bulgaria, Margaret Astor is one of the leaders in the color cosmetics market. One of
Margaret Astor's innovation is the protective quality of their products. In all the ranges
Margaret Astor has established care and protective qualities that do not irritate the
skin. Their range of colors and products are constantly updated to meet the demanding
fashion markets. Their marketing success can be attributed to the excellent quality of its
cosmetics and the well rounded knowledge of make-up.
The Margaret Astor series of make-up cosmetics includes: lip
make-up products, nail car products, eye make-up products and facial make-up products.
Since the launch of Margaret Astor and Coty in Bulgaria,
Stambouli Bulgaria Ltd., has maintained a high market share at a competitive price. Within
each series of cosmetic products mentioned above, we import between 10 and 20 products
within each series. Each product due to the color variations may have up to 40 references,
making the distribution and promotion of such products highly demanding.
Adidas fragrances were launched by Coty in January 1993 and
Stambouli Bulgaria Ltd., started importing the range in September 1995. The range includes
fragrances for men and women. For men these are the Adidas Man, Adidas Active Bodies and
Adidas Adventure range and for women the range is Adidas Women. Within each range there
are 10 different products, targeted on a specific market.
Vanilla Fields is another fragrance produced by Coty, especially
for women. It was launched by Coty in February 1995 and the following September it was
already in the Bulgarian market through Stambouli Bulgaria Ltd.
Francois Coty, the founder of Coty, was always a marketing genius and his motto still
remains:
"Give women the best product that you can make, market it in the perfect bottle,
beautiful in its simplicity yet impeccable in taste, ask a reasonable price for it, and
you will witness the birth of a business the size of which the world has never seen."
